| Vocal focus analyses how the voice works and applies these principles to vocal technique. It is my experience that almost anyone can improve their singing voice and almost anyone can learn to speak with greater ease. Unfortunately many people have been told that they can't, and they have a negative vocal self-image because of this false belief. Individuals can come to the Vocal Focus voice studios for private voice lessons. Vocal Focus believes in teaching "holistically". The philosophy is to teach a person on three levels: intellectual- there should be an understanding of how the voice is produced, physical- through muscle memory and specific muscle relaxation, and emotional-spiritual - through a positive and supportive environment, through releasing emotional blockages to easy vocal production, as well as an emotional connection to the music and content being expressed vocally. Exercises are tailored to a person's age and voice. A "cookie cutter" approach is never used, instead exercises are utilized that are custom-designed to each person's individual vocal needs and goals. Lessons are available for adults, teens and children. All ages, ability levels and styles are welcome. Private lessons can be for either speech improvement or for singing technique. Voice lessons are taught by Ronni Lederman, a classically trained Soprano. She has studied voice extensively since 1991 and has performed in regional opera, with Rockland Symphony Orchestra, WestFair Singers, Operesque, Pro Arte Chorale, and more. She has also participated in NYSTA's Professional Development Program for "distinguished" voice professionals, including speech pathologists and voice teachers. She has studied the McClosky Vocal Technique and studied Vocal Management Techniques at Westminster Choir College with Dr. Anat Keidar. Recently she has also been a guest speaker with "Yogamatics For Healthy Living" on Rockland World Radio. In these broadcasts Ms. Lederman discusses how unwanted tension in the voice can block a person's emotional expression and block the natural beauty of the human voice. Breathing, speaking pitch and vocal relaxation exercises are given to help in the process of releasing these tensions. Lessons are either for a half-hour (children only), forty-five minutes or one hour sessions. Ms. Lederman is located in Rockland County, New York. She is a member of the Rockland County Music Teacher's Guild, NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing), and the New York SingingTeachers Association. To schedule a lesson, workshop, or if you have any questions please call: (845) 548-9308, 9 AM - 10 PM EST. Hear a soundclip of Ms. Lederman singing "Vedrai Carino" by W.A. Mozart--Click Here! |
